Hi Guys!

As you all know, we (LSCS) has implemented CLIP 2006 (Computer Literacy Program) youths (SIGA) of GK in Baseco -- the HS and Elem students. And I just want to share, because I believe that all of us who helped and prayed for CLIP last year has the every right to be thankful and be proud of this: one of our students in CLIP (sorry I dont have the name yet) was able to get a decent job because of the computer literacy certification she got from CLIP. :) last school year, 1st term. I bet everyone of us would agree that this is a program that all of us could be very proud of, as it provides a venue for the under priviledged young students to experience using a computer and of course learn how to use computer and its basic application. I just want to share this not for us to feel sooo proud that BECAUSE OF US, SOMEONE GOT A JOB. Or to make us feel that we are really worthy of being the winner as most outstanding socio civic award. I hope we won't think this way. Because I believe that student has worked so hard to be able to achieve something. But I guess my purpose for this is for us to feel more motivated and inspired to continue sharing a little bit of our time, talent, knowledge and effort to the less priviledged one. Another thing, I have another good news for you guys!!!! I'm not sure if you're familiar with TAYO. If not, here's a simple background about TAYO

TAYO or the Ten Accomplished Youth Organization is a yearly search that recognizes 20 youth organizations from all over the country for its civic projects. Out of the 20, 10 are proclaimed as the organizations, which have made the most impact in their communities. This initiative is a brainchild of Senator Francis Pangilinan and is overseen by the TAYO Foundation and the National Youth Commission (NYC). www.tayo-awards. org

With this year's search, LSCS took the change to join the search with CLIP 2006 as our entry :D And I am sooooooo proud and honored to let you guys know that

We (LSCS) QUALIFIED in the TOP 20 ORGANIZATIONS in TAYO Search . :D One more step, and we might be qualified in the TOP 10. :D And what is the prize if ever we get chosen as the winner??? Php 50,000 cash for our org! :D Imagine what that 50k can do diba??? :D

Tomorrow, Aug 17, 9am, the TAYO Committee will be meeting 3 of our officers to have a videoed interview/screening with the org and might also go to Baseco to interview the beneficiaries. Next week, TAYO will already process the screening results, and announce the winner anytime soon. :)

So there, once again, I'm asking for your prayers.. all of us.. 80 officers..
